Why Life Changing Family Care?

Our IOP and individual counseling is trauma focused and rooted in psycho-dynamic therapy.  It will be provided in a safe space where clients can be vulnerable while processing difficult emotions and experiences.

We believe that in order to become free of the disease of addiction, we must address the root issues that make us want to use, process emotions, and continue developing emotional regulation.

Our treatment approach encourages accountability, structure, support, community, purpose, acceptance, personal empowerment, and the development of sober support.

Clients will develop a plan with Case Management services for all non-therapeutic goals and needs and steps necessary to achieve them.  Our caring team will be here to help with needs, barriers, and goals; such as transportation, seeking employment, medical appointments, hygiene, and clothing needs

This program is unique because it deals with healing the trauma that led to substance abuse. Many of the other places only deal with substance abuse disorder. Many of the programs I have been in ask questions about childhood trauma in the assessment process, but then it is never discussed again. This program is trauma-based. Because of this program I now know why I act the way I do in everyday situations today. I can trace them back to where they started from and why they affect me so deeply. My definition of addiction has changed because of this program and what I have learned being here. This program has saved my life. It introduced me to myself. I no longer run from my past or trauma because I have healed from it, and I know how to apply the same healing to my everyday life so that I can continue to heal daily. I have learned so very much in this program and I am grateful to my life-changing family for everything that they have given me simply by helping me heal from my trauma. I have a long road ahead of me, but I would not have gotten this far without this program! I have tried many other programs, and I had been abstinent for lengths of time only to return to active drug use repeatedly because I had not dealt with the reason that I picked up in the first place. Because my definition of addiction was not what it is today. I was still trying to detach from my trauma rather than healing from it. I had thought that addiction was the use of drugs. But addiction is detaching from my trauma by any means. I can do that in many other ways not only the use of drugs that is just the main one that worked best for me. The use of drugs is only a symptom of addiction, and until I learned that nothing was going to change.
